MADE FROM SCRATCH

The Y Factor have teamed up with theatre director Oonagh Murphy, axis Ballymun and a group of diverse young women between the ages of 15-25 to bring you MADE FROM SCRATCH.

MADE FROM SCRATCH is a one-off theatre performance to celebrate International Day of The Girl and to mark International Day for the Eradication of Poverty.

The project has involved developing relationships with young women and girls through interviews, workshops in theatre, spoken word and film. Some of these women have been directly affected by the issues in the piece, others have engaged to learn more about the experiences of those in poverty.

Together they will explore ideas of girlhood, womanhood and poverty in contemporary Ireland in an exciting and dynamic evening of entertainment.

Temper Mental MissElayenous, star of the new RTE series Connected has worked with this group to generate original material as part of the show and will perform this and her own material on the night.

‘A house without heating, a wardrobe without any new clothes, a year without buying a gift. 750,000 people are living in poverty in Ireland. If we had the chance what would we do differently?’
