Better Boards, Better Business, Better Society
Tuesday, March 03, 2015
In partnership with the European Parliament, we are delighted to invite you to join us for the launch of:
‘Better Boards, Better Business, Better Society; A handbook for increasing the number of women on boards in Ireland’.
Our keynote speaker will be Halla Tomasdottir, co-founder and lead partner at Sisters Capital. Halla outlined in her 2010 TED talk, how she took her former company, Audur Capital, an Icelandic financial services and Private Equity firm through the eye of the economic meltdown by incorporating "feminine" values. Newsweek named Halla as one of 150 women who shake the world, and she received the Cartier Women’s Initiative Award for outstanding women entrepreneurs in Europe. Halla is the founding Chair of Women Corporate Directors (WCD) in Iceland and is an active advocate for balance in the boardroom.
Lynn Boylan MEP will also speak on her work on the Women on Boards Directive in Europe, and on her time as Chair of Safe Food Ireland. The event will be chaired by broadcaster, businesswoman and publishing entrepreneur, Norah Casey.
