Bray Women's Refuge invites you to an Awareness Raising Seminar on Bullying and its effect on Domestic Abuse and Suicide presented by well known presenters and lecturers on bullying and suicide prevention - Rev Dr Tony Byrne CSSp Director of the Awareness Education Office and Sr. Kathleen Maguire PBVM, MA, facilitator of the Awareness Education Office, Dublin.
Both facilitators have co written "Bullying in the Workplace, Home & School - Questions and Answers", "Harmony in the Home - Questions and Answers". They also have presented two CDs on "Bullying in the Home, a CD on Facing up to Suicide," and on "Bullying in the Workplace."

- Definition of home and the significance of healthy home life
- Effects of bullying in the home on victims of bullying
- Effects of bullying on the home itself
- The mind of the bully
- Relationship between domestic bullying and suicide
- Profile of a domestic bully
- Methods of confronting bullies in their home:
- Informal Method
- Formal Method
- Mediation and domestic bullying
- Conflict resolution in homes
- The speaker/listener techniques for addressing conflict in the home.

 

 

Representatives from voluntary and statutory sector services associated with the issues of Bullying i.e. the Medical Profession, an Garda Siochana, Addiction Services, Children and Young Peoples Support Organisations, Educators, Religious Clergy etc and anyone affected by bullying are invited to attend.

 

The Cost of this seminar is €20 to include tea/coffee biscuits, and 3 course buffet lunch

- Ramada Hotel Bray, Directions -

Directions from Dublin City:

Travel southbound on the M50, M11 and N11 towards Wexford. From the N11 take the third exit for Bray.
At the Roundabout, take 3rd exit onto the Southern Cross Route. And travel to the end of this road towards Greystones and the Ramada Hotel Bray is at the end of this road on the left hand side.
If you miss the third exit for Bray, travel to the next exit form N11 (Kilmacanogue) and leave the N11 south bound, go across the flyover (3rd exit off roundabout) and at the end of the road take the 2nd exit off the small roundabout. Travel back toward N11, left at garage and follow flow back onto N11.
Take 1st exit for Bray and follow Directions from Wicklow;
Directions from Wicklow:
Follow the signs for Dublin/N11. Take the 1st exit for Bray and cross the flyover (3rd exit from Roundabout). At next Roundabout - take 2nd exit - onto the Southern Cross Route. Travel to the far end of this road towards Greystones and the Ramada Hotel is at the end of this road on the left hand side.
Through Bray town
If travelling through Bray town, take the left at the Town hall (McDonald's) and continue towards Greystones. At 2nd Round about, take 2nd exit and hotel is on the right.

- Parking is free but spaces are limited at hotel
