    Visible Lives is a groundbreaking new research project, commissioned by GLEN, that aims to explore the lives, experiences and needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people in Ireland aged 55 and over.
    Older LGBT people grew up in a time where being open about their sexual orientation or gender identity may have been very difficult, if not almost impossible.

  • Risk to society from brutal rapist ‘underestimated’
    AUTHORITIES underestimate the risk to society posed by the pending release of brutal rapist Larry Murphy, the National Women’s Council of Ireland (NWCI) has warned.



  • The Guerilla Girls, famous for their, "Do women have to be naked to get into the Met?", have recently turned their attention to Ireland. Make it your business to get to the premiere of their showing of the All Ireland Project, which opened at no. 76 John Street on Friday July 30th and will run until 24 September. It's a great show, though it is likely to make you furious, because what the GG's research has uncovered is not a pretty picture. Here too, women who are artists have been excluded right across the board.

    Since the email campaign for ACT NOW 2015 was launched two weeks ago, over 100 people have sent emails to their TDs through the Act Now website.

    Salome Mbugua, CEO of the African & Migrant women's network, AkiDwA, was elected as deputy chairperson of the NWCI & Tessa Collins, domestic violence co-ordinator with Pavee Point, elected as a board member at the NWCI's AGM in Dublin.
