Social Inclusion Forum 2018: Social Inclusion in a Changing Environment

The Social Inclusion Forum (SIF) is part of the structures put in place by the government to support the development and implementation of its plans to address poverty and social exclusion. The event provides a forum for consultation and discussion on social inclusion issues, particularly with people experiencing poverty and social exclusion and the groups that work with them.

In 2018, the theme of the SIF is Social Inclusion in a Changing Environment. It will explore issues such as using the Public Sector Duty as a toll for change; Strengthening the voice of the Social Inclusion Forum; Equality Proofing Public Expenditure; Childcare Policies; and Community Work at local level. There will also be a discussion on using the Sustainable Development Goals.

Preparatory Meetings

The consultation process will include a series of regional meetings and focus groups hosted by Community Work Ireland (CWI) and European Anti-Poverty Network (EAPN) Ireland and that will inform a wider consultation process at the annual Social Inclusion Forum.​

• Wednesday 2nd May; 11am - 1:30pm; Cork Traveller Visibility Group, 25 Lower John Street, Cork

EAPN Ireland and the CWI would like to encourage the participants of people with direct experience of issues that emerge from the regional workshops at the Social Inclusion Forum in Dublin. A small budget is available to support the participation costs (travel and childcare) of a number of people frm the regional workshops from unfunded or under-funded groups and unwaged individuals to attend the SIF. Please let them know when registering for the regional workshops if you wish to avail of this support.
