Applications are now open for places on UCD's MA Women, Gender and Society.
The MA may be taken on a one-year full-time or two-year part-time basis.

Gender plays a crucial role in the way we see the world and in how the world is organised. The MA  Women, Gender and Society was developed for those who want to examine society from a gender standpoint and to explore the process of achieving social and economic justice based on gender and social equality. A feminist perspective offers a complex understanding of how inequality and oppression work locally and globally and offers rich insights into the way multiple discrimination works across gender, race, sexual orientation, disability and age.

The MA Women, Gender and Society provides students with an opportunity to acquire a critical understanding of contemporary society and to develop their knowledge and understanding of the central importance of gender in policy-making and in the process of social change.

Students acquire a critical understanding of the gendered nature of economic and social systems and a new outlook on gender roles, sexualities and identities in contemporary society. Modules include Gender Studies - Critical Themes, Gender and Globalisation, Feminist and Egalitarian Research, Gender Space and Place, Masculinities, Gender War and Conflict, Human Rights Law, Education and Inequality.
