NWCI & Limerick Women’s Network workshop: Making Women Central to Local Government

NWCI and Limerick Women's Network would like to invite you to our workshop on Making Women Central to Local Government on Wednesday 25 November from 10am-2pm in Northside Family Resource Centre, Ballynanty, Limerick. This workshop will provide an opportunity to share experiences of engaging in the local alignment structures and identifying how best to represent women’s voices in these spaces. Among the speakers on the day will be the Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission presenting on the new public sector human rights and equality duty.

This event is being organised in cooperation with the National Collective of Community-based Women’s Networks.

On the day, topics will include:
• Current developments in local alignment across the country
• How groups are promoting women’s equality through local alignment
• Opportunities for women’s collective engagement in local alignment
• Public sector positive duty – how we can use it as a tool in our work

The event is open to members and friends of the hosting organisations and those working to embed women’s equality into local government reform processes.

Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
