Spot the Woman Campaign
The exclusion of women from power in this country has never been clearer. Five out of six authors of the McCarthy Report were men, 16 out of 17 on the Oireachtas Committee on Finance and Public Service are men, there are 13 men and just five women on the Commission on Taxation.........and of course women make up just 13% of our TDs and Senators.
What do we want you to do?
We want you to 'Spot the Woman'. Have a look at the boards and committees and panels of people in influential positions, locally or nationally. Count the women and if they make up less than 40% of the total, then demand to know why! Ask those responsible if they are willing to commit to equal representation in the future - and let us know.
