Pensions for Women

Older women in Ireland continue to be one of the key groups at risk of poverty. The NWCI commissioned research into the development of a pensions system that guarantees economic independence for women in their older years. 'Pensions: What Women Want - a model of pensions that guarantee independence' was published in May 2008 by the NWCI, and was adopted as its new policy on pensions. The core aim of the policy is the development of a universal pension for all.

'Pensions: What women want' also formed the submission to the Government's Green paper on Pensions.
