Journey through the world of journalism & TV presenting with Keelin Shanley

Ever wonder how TV presenters get to where they are? How they got started and whether or not being a woman was an advantage? Women on Air was wondering that too so we asked Morning Edition presenter Keelin Shanley to come along to chat to Women On Air about her own journey through the world of journalism and TV presenting.

About Keelin Shanley  Three time IFTA award winner, Keelin Shanley works as a journalist in RTE Television and Radio.  She currently presents RTE's morning news television programme, Morning Edition and is also known for presenting The Consumer Show. 
Working with RTÉ's flagship current affairs television programme, Prime Time, she made a number of landmark documentaries including Sex Traffic, Cocaine and Saturday Night, Sunday Morning which showed the impact of Irish alcohol use over a 24 hour period.

She has also worked for Radio France International and for CNN World Report. She has covered stories in a number of developing countries including post earthquake Haiti, gang wars in Honduras and the use of child soldiers in Joseph Kony's on-going war in Northern Uganda
