Achieving Gender Equality At Work – Care Policy and Practice Conference

Sinéad Gibney, Chief Commissioner of the Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission is pleased to invite you to our conference on Achieving Gender Equality At Work – Care Policy and Practice at Croke Park Conference Centre from 9am to 4.30pm on 9 November, 2022. The Conference will discuss the role of care policy and practice in achieving workplace gender equality from a structural, legislative, policy and practice perspective. The Conference is being organised in association with Ibec and ICTU and is an initiative of our Worker and Employer Advisory Committee of which they are members.

Conference Format
The morning session will be in plenary and issues discussed will include gender equality, decent work, care as a right, the recommendations of the Citizen’s Assembly on Gender Equality, the European Care Strategy, and the intersection of national gender equality and care policies and practices.
The afternoon session will be in parallel panel discussions on: gender equality and sharing care; intersectionality, employment and care; gender pay gap and gender segregation; older people, disabled people, and care; early childhood care and education; and sexual harassment and domestic abuse. All registered participants will be given the full list of speakers on each parallel panel and invited to select the session they wish to attend in advance of the conference. The conference will close with a final plenary.
