What do we need from the State Pension in the future?
Tuesday, June 05, 2018
Minister Doherty launches Public Consultation on State Pension Reform.
This is an once in a generation opportunity to influence pension policy. Let your voice be heard!
The consultation will help to inform the design of a new Total Contributions Approach (TCA) to the State Pension (Contributory) from 2020.
The total contributions approach is a way of assessing and calculating a person’s eligibility for a full State pension. The Pensions Framework through which the Government plans to organise the state pension proposes that the current system of yearly averaging be replaced with a Total Contributions Approach from 2020.
The Total Contributions Approach consultation which runs from the 28th May to 3rd September 2018 can be accessed online at the Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection website. It is important that all stakeholders have their say on the proposed approach.
