The election of Donald Trump as US President shows that we can never take achievements for women’s equality for granted. We need to disucss the real-life stories of women in Ireland and show the benefits of women's equality to women, men, families and children and society as a whole.
As Ciara, one of our FemFest young women says “There exists a popular misconception about feminism that if women rise, then men must fall. It's not a zero-sum game. We all rise together.”
Now more than ever, we need to come together to build an Ireland where girls and women can equally participate in public life and benefit all of society in Ireland.
