NWC announces Corrinne Hasson as its new Executive Director

The National Women’s Council (NWC) is delighted to announce Corrinne Hasson as its new Executive Director. Corrinne will be taking up the position in the coming months.

Dr Jennifer Okeke, Chairperson of NWC said,

“We warmly welcome Corrinne as the new Executive Director of NWC. As a committed feminist, Corrinne brings a real wealth of leadership and advocacy experience and a proven track record in the NGO sector in Ireland. We are very excited to see her drive the implementation of NWC’s new Strategic Plan ‘Time to Act for Women’s Rights and Equality over the coming years.’”

Corrinne has spent the last 15 years, both volunteering and working in the NGO sector across Ireland, North and South.  Currently, Corrinne is the CEO of the Irish Foster Care Association, an organisation who advocates for Foster Carers and the wider Foster Care Community, whilst also providing vital supports and services. Previously, Corrinne was the Services Manager with ALONE, an organisation that supports older people to remain living at home independently, whilst combatting loneliness. She then was Director of Services with the Irish Cancer Society leading 7 teams, including the Night Nursing Service, Transport Service, and Survivorship Supports. Corrinne Hasson's education is in Music (Queen's University) and Counselling and Psychotherapy (Ulster University).

Corrinne Hasson said,

“I am excited and honoured to be given the opportunity to lead the National Women’s Council as its new Executive Director. For over 50 years, NWC has been at the forefront of campaigning for women’s rights and equality in Ireland and I look forward to working with NWC’s almost 200 member groups, the NWC Board, staff and the wider women’s movement to drive forward NWC’s ambitious agenda to achieve a feminist Ireland where everyone thrives.”
