Are victims’ rights real in your community? Transposing the Victims’ Rights Directive into Irish Law

Monday, November 16, 2015

On the 16th November, the Victims Rights' Directive will become law throughout the EU, including Ireland. From then, victims will be entitled to respect for the rights set out under the new laws.

The Victims' Rights Alliance (VRA) invites you to join us for a seminar to discuss how these developments will impact on victims of crime in Ireland. In particular, this event will examine the effect on services such as the Gardaí, prison services, victim support organisations and others, including the Office of the DPP, lawyers and the judiciary.

The VRA is delighted that the Lord Mayor of Dublin, Críona Ní Dhálaigh, will join us.  Victims of crime will voice their experiences of the criminal justice system. Other speakers include, Chief Superintendent Annemarie McMahon, Detective Chief Superintendent Padraig Kennedy & Maria McDonald BL.

RSVP to Jason O'Mara, ICCL at jason.omara@iccl.ie or call 01 7994528
