What is it about?
This event aims to:
- explore how climate change and mental health interlink, with a special focus on women’s mental health,
- share learning and insights on how the climate crisis is both a health and social justice issue,
-hear from diverse perspectives and explore experiences and impacts for women already experiencing health or other inequalities, and
-highlight the valuable role health professionals can play to contribute to climate and health advocacy.
Despite the profound implications of both climate change and climate action for women’s well-being, we’re simply not talking about these issues enough, and opportunities to collectively explore these topics are rare. This event seeks to bridge that gap.
Speakers will include mental health and climate advocates, and community leaders who will share expert insights and lived experiences. We will also launch the health chapter of the National Women’s Council’s Feminist Communities for Climate Justice Baseline Research Report.
Who is it for?
Health and mental health professionals, climate advocates, policymakers, students, experts by experience, and people with an interest in mental health, gender and climate issues. You do not need any prior expertise to attend, we want to create an accessible space where everyone can share and learn from each other.
