Premiere of Blood Rising: Daughters of Mexico

"Blood Rising" is having its Irish commercial premiere at the Lighthouse Cinema on Friday April 4th at 8.30pm.

Blood Rising depicts life in Ciudad Juarez, now the most dangerous city in the world. Hundreds of women have been murdered there and only 2% of the cases have been properly investigated. The mothers of the femicide victims are desperately seeking justice from a government who has abandoned them. They have enlisted the help of renowned artist Brian Maguire to take their emotional story to the outside world.

The screening will be followed by a Q + A with Artist Brian Maguire, Musician Gavin Friday and myself.

Blood Rising was screened earlier this month in the European Parliament as the first step in an international human rights campaign to bring attention to the hundreds of murder cases of young women that have been swept under the carpet in Mexico.
