North South Co-operation to Tackle Violence Against Women is a culmination of a joint project by the National Women's Council and Women's Aid Federation Northern Ireland in leading the All Island Violence Against Women Working Group, supported by the Department of Foreign Affairs' Shared Island Civic Society Fund. This initiative builds on years of collaborative work through the All-Island Women’s Forum, strengthening relationships between key organisations in both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. It amplifies the voices of survivors and emphasises the critical need for continued cross-border action to address intimate partner violence. The launch of North-South Cooperation to tackle Violence Against Women marks a significant milestone in addressing violence against women across both jurisdictions. It highlights the ongoing challenges posed by the border in providing consistent support to survivors and underscores the importance of unified efforts.
