Sudanese journalist jailed for reporting rape women's rape claim

A journalist has been jailed for a month by a court in northern Sudan after she reported the claim by youth activist Safiya Eshaq that she was raped by Khartoum security forces (see WVoN story).
Fatima Ghazali, a reporter at the Sudanese daily Al-Jarida, was convicted of publishing lies and ordered to pay a $600 fine or face imprisonment.
