WALK
WALK
WALK is an organisation committed to building an inclusive society where all people are valued and treated as equal citizens. We support people with intellectual disabilities and autistic people to live self-determined lives of their own choosing, with equal rights, opportunities, and meaningful participation in their communities. Through person-centred approaches, self-advocacy, and community-based supports, WALK works to empower people to build relationships, access opportunities, and have their voices heard. We strongly believe in equality, inclusion, and the power of lived experience to influence positive social change. WALK is interested in joining the National Women’s Council to ensure that the voices and lived experiences of women with intellectual disabilities and autistic women are represented within the wider women’s movement. We value the opportunity to contribute to national conversations on women’s equality, inclusion, and intersectionality, while learning from and collaborating with other member organisations to advance a more inclusive feminist agenda for all women.
