We have supported and continue to support the Justice for Magdalenes Group (JFM) in their campaign for recognition, a State apology and redress for women who were incarcerated in the Magdalene laundries.
We wrote letters to politicians, including all women local councillors many of whom succeeded in having motions passed in their local authorities supporting the demands of JFM. We also supported the media work of the campaign and helped to organise a Vigil outside of the Dáil on the night of the State’s apology to the survivors of the Magdalene institutions.
