All-Ireland Traveller Health Study Launch

Published: Wednesday, June 23, 2010

The All-Ireland Traveller Health Study, commissioned by the Department of Health and Children, was conducted by University College Dublin with support from Traveller organisations, Primary Health Care Workers and the Health Service Executive. The study represents the first systematic study of Traveller Health circumstances in 22 years. The publication of the report by the Minister for Health will shed new light on the health circumstances of the Traveller community, and will provide data for the advancement of an evidence-based policy on Traveller Health.

We hope you'll be able to join us for the launch, to hear first hand the latest information on the health of Travellers and to recognise the work of Traveller Health Care Workers and UCD in the undertaking of the study.

In addition, UCD plans to officially acknowledge the names of all the Traveller Peer Researchers who took part in the Study. If there were researchers in your project we would appreciate if you could kindly send their names to be included in their report. You could send the names to UCD directly or else send to Pavee Point <info@pavee.ie>, or both, to be sure.
