More Women in the Dail Petition

Colleagues

We went live with the petition for more women in politics over the weekend - now we need to get the message out as widely as possible to build up the numbers

Attached is a press statement we put out over the weekend which got some limited coverage, but a web petition needs web promotion.

Can people do all or some of the following:

- put links to the campaign on your web-site and
- post about it on your Facebook page
- Twit
- e-mail your members/affiliates asking them to do the same
- get people to look at blogs etc which are dealing with political reform and comment on them posting the links to the campaign
- anything else you can do to promote it.

There are two more specialised promotions we need someone/some organisation to take up - we need voluneers to take these up.

- there were many 'think pieces' about the low number of women candidates over the weekend. Someone should be phoning/e-mailing round these journalists to tell them about this campaign
- we should also think of some event/photo-op to boost the profile of the campaign
