Menstrual Hygiene Day

Tuesday, May 28, 2024

Menstrual Hygiene Day (MH Day) is a global advocacy platform that brings together the voices and actions of non-profits, government agencies, individuals, the private sector and the media to promote good menstrual health and hygiene (MHH) for all women and girls.

It was first celebrated in 2014 with the vision that by 2030 it is possible to create a world where no one is held back because they menstruate. This means a world in which menstruation can be managed safely, hygienically, with confidence, and without shame:

  • everyone can access and afford the menstrual product of their choice
  • period stigma is a thing of the past
  • everyone has basic information about menstruation
  • everyone can access period-friendly water, sanitation and hygiene facilities everywhere

To celebrate the day and mark the 10 year milestone together with M.L.A Liz Kimmins Chairperson of the Stormont Health Committee -  Changing Cycles Community Interest Company would like to invite you to participate in a menstrual wellness event in Stormont Parliament Buildings. Attendees will hear from a variety of speakers on the topic of menstrual health, how menstruation is experienced across the world and how we can make more sustainable and environmentally friendly choices when it comes to menstrual products.

The following form needs to be completed by anyone attending.

Starts: 28 May 2024 11:00
Ends: 28 May 2024 13:00
Location: Stormont Parliament Buildings
