The umbrella group for Ireland's women's groups is currently recruiting for the following positions:

Project Co-ordinator - The "Y" Factor
The person appointed will establish and co-ordinate 'The Y Factor' project. This is an innovative and ambitious new project which aims to empower young women and men to analyse and take action on gender inequalities in Irish society.
The project involves the design and delivery of participative learning modules in schools and youth groups across Ireland. It involves the development of initiatives and events including a talent quest, an ethical fashion show, an art competition and exhibition as well as other community based initiatives with a strong emphasis on social media. It involves the development of a strategy to ensure that the learning and experience from the project can influence the ways in which the education and youth work sectors in particular, deal with issues of gender inequality.

You will be interested in this job if you have:

  • A relevant 3rd level degree or equivalent professional qualification
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Social policy and political analysis with a particular emphasis on gender equality, and youth affairs.
  • Experience of working in a youth organisation or in the community development/non governmental sector, or related fields.

Salary (€41,092) (36 month full time contract) based in Dublin.

Project Manager - "That Far Off Thing"

This is a part-time 16 month contract from January 2012 - March 2013. It is of concern to the NWCI that in 21st century Ireland images of women occur in advertising and in the public domain that are often sexist and stereotyping, while images of real women who are achieving great things are few and far between. This project represents an opportunity to visibly take on that challenge, generating strong, positive reinforcing and strong images of women and what they do, with a particular focus on women at work.
The person appointed will manage and deliver the project. She/he will have a wide knowledge of contemporary art and photography and of contemporary women writers. She/he will have a wide working network in contemporary arts and literature.
You will be interested in this job if you have:
A relevant 3rd level degree or equivalent professional qualification or experience

  • Experience working with Arts and Community Groups and in delivering high quality community projects.
  • Substantial event management experience
  • Excellent communication skills

This is a part-time 16 months contract, €30,000 to include taxes, levies and charges
