Dublin Human Rights Festival

Front Line Defenders are holding a one-day human rights festival, as part of Dublin Social Inclusion Week.

One of the panels, "Women Who Dare: Defending Gender Rights", will be chaired by NWCI Director Orla O'Connor.

Across the globe, women and those who defend their rights face serious risks. Refusing to be silenced or intimidated, women human rights defenders Hadeel Buqrais from Kuwait, Hauwa Haruna from Nigeria and Baia Pataraia from Georgia will join us in Dublin to share their experiences struggling for women’s rights in Saudi Arabia; fighting for the rights of women to live free from gender-based violence in the territories controlled by Boko Haram in Nigeria, and being targeted, threatened and harassed for fighting for the rights of women and the LGBTI community in Georgia. This panel will take place from 12:15pm - 1:30pm.

The event is free but ticketed. Register your place on Eventbrite.
